When to use it

Vitamin C, in addition to being an excellent antioxidant, supports the body's natural defences and may be particularly useful for older people; during pregnancy and breastfeeding; for those who live or work in polluted environments; and for smokers (according to some studies, one cigarette "burns" between 25 and 100 mg of vitamin C). Smoking, alcohol, coffee, pollution, stress, as well as very intense physical activity, all contribute to lowering the body's endogenous vitamin C levels and limiting its absorption. In all these cases, it may be useful to supplement the amount of vitamin C normally taken through the diet.
